The name, West of the Moon, comes from the Nordic folk tale East O' the Sun, West O' the Moon. It shares a similar structure to The myth of Cupid and Psyche and Beauty and the Beast. A classic hero journey where several challenges must be met while travelling in a world "between worlds" This is a magical place, stimulating and the epitome of where ideas are born and creativity lives. It is the place between awake and asleep, where reality is a little blurred and impossibilities become possibilities
I live in a teeny-tiny beloved bungalow with my husband, three cats, a house full of books (the dining room serves as a library with floor to ceiling shelves), art supplies and kitchen gadgets. No room is safe from books and art supplies. Everywhere are piles of books, paint brushes unconsciously misplaced, and canvases propped against any vertical surface. Our garden is a marvelous jungle of lovely plants that grow faster than we can tend, but the birds love it and sing their beautiful song in appreciation daily.
